简介

影片讲述了纽约华盛顿高地一家杂货店的老板乌斯纳维的故事。他即将关闭店铺，在继承了祖母的遗产后返回家乡多米尼加共和国退休。他对此百感交集，而拉丁裔社区及其居民的吸引力让他驻足思考。影片围绕着乌斯纳维、一位大学生、一位出租车司机、一位美容院员工以及一位渴望美好生活的老妇人展开。随着士绅化逐渐深入，一场酷暑中的停电事件将个人危机推向了前所未有的高度。
