简介

英国著名导演理查德。莱斯特应邀前往好莱坞拍摄首部电影，该片改编自百老汇同名音乐喜剧，由胖子喜剧演员泽罗主演。莫斯特尔饰演男主角——古罗马时期的一名奴隶。为了争取自由，他首先要帮助主人追求高级妓女，于是他用尽各种手段偷盗、绑架，罗马城的所有人都被他逼疯了。整部影片相当生动有趣，演员们也奉献了令人捧腹的表演。难得的是无声电影时代的喜剧巨擘巴斯特。基顿也在影片中客串，饰演女主角安妮特。安德烈的父亲。
