简介

早在2010年12月，安德森就计划改编托马斯·品钦的《性黑暗》。但由于早前收到另一部新片《大师》的资金，《性黑暗》暂时搁置。《性本恶》有着类似钱德勒侦探小说的外壳，洛杉矶私家侦探Doc偶然结识了前女友莎斯塔，从她口中听到了令人无法接受的故事，一桩离奇的绑架案，受害者——她的现任情人——是一位拥有“数亿美元财富”的房地产开发商。Doc知道“爱”是个模糊的词，随时可能引发很大的麻烦，但他还是无意中撞见了莎斯塔的故事，故事越陷越深。冲浪者、皮条客、毒贩、摇滚乐手、犯下谋杀案的高利贷者，各色人等，若隐若现……
